In My Mailbox #1

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi of The Story Siren.

Hello fellow book lovers! I'm here to do my first In My Mailbox. I wanted to do a vlog, but since I didn't get any physical books this week, I decided to just write out what I got.

Me@You.com by K.E. Payne
Publication Date: January 27, 2012
Received from: Bold Strokes Books via NetGalley
This one is about a girl who leads a normal life, has a normal boyfriend, but starts to have feelings for a girl she met on a message board. I've never read a book like this before, but finding online love seemed to interest me for some reason. It seems like something not many people have written about yet.

It's a Wonderful Life by Jesse Goosens
Published: October 3, 2011
Received from: Lemniscaat USA via NetGalley
Based on the movie with the same name, this book seems interesting. Now, I've never actually seen the movie, but I definitely want to see it now, before I read this book so I can compare it to the original work. Also, she ends up in a Pennsylvania town. Hellllllo, home state! It just seems like a heart warming book that will be good to read in December.

Waiting to Forget by Sheila Kelly Welch
Published: October 1, 2011
Received from: namelos via NetGalley
Paper cranes and foster homes. This seems like a book that's probably going to make me cry. I can already feel that tug on my heart that's bound to come with this book. It takes us through T.J.'s past with his absent mother and her abusive boyfriend to the foster home he and his sister, Angela end up in, and adds in how scary it can be, trying to face the future. Love that this was written in Then and Now chapters and cannot wait to read it.

Deadly Little Secret by Laurie Faria Stolarz
Published: December 23, 2008
Received from: Disney-Hyperion via NetGalley
I love this book! I love this series! It's intense and romantic and ugh. One of my favorite book series. I was so excited to see that I received it because now I can read it over again in preparation of the next book in the series, which I believe comes out in December. I seriously cannot wait. I want it now! Ahhh!

The Silent by Rebecca Kenney
Published: April 9, 2010
Received from: BJU Press via NetGalley
A school threat that one girl wants to help avoid. Teaming up with a detective, Nikki tries to find out who's sending threatening e-mails to her school before it's too late. With the detective, they realize that it could really be anyone and there's almost no way to find out. It's time to put faith in God. I like books about religion. I don't see enough of them out there, so I'm very excited about this one!

The Next Door Boys by Jolene B. Perry
Published: October 4, 2011
Received from: Cedar Fort via NetGalley
The first thing I want to say about this is LOOK AT THAT COVER! It's so gorgeous. I really can't wait to dig into this one. For some reason, I can't get it on my Kindle, which really saddens me. I keep trying but it just won't go through. All my other books have, but this one has to be difficult because I really want to read it. This is about a girl, I suppose, in remission? She's trying to get over cancer treatments from the year before and trying to stand on her own two feet. She doesn't exactly want to fall in love, but who can stop that?

Wreath by Judy Christie
Published: October 1, 2011
Received from: Barbour Publishing, Inc. via NetGalley
Wreath is homeless at sixteen. It sounds like something I would write about, so it automatically caught my attention. This one also seems to be about religion and spirituality but I'm not sure exactly how yet. Wreath goes to high school and then squats somewhere at night. She wants to go to college and make something of herself. People grow suspicious and that might just be a big problem.

Addison Blakely: Confessions of a PK by Betsy St. Amant
Publication date: January 1, 2012
Received from: Barbour Publishing, Inc. via NetGalley
I'm currently reading this book and I have to say, it's really kept my attention. It's another spiritual/religion book, as PK means Preacher's Kid. Addison's got spunk and knows how to take things into her hands. She's got her crushes and they could be jerks, but can she really help that? Would it be the worst mistake ever to date the resident bad boy? Would her father keel over from all of his non-dieting and then roll over in his grave? I don't know. I'm still reading it.

Hushed by Kelley York
Publication date: December 6, 2011
Received from: Entangled Publishing via NetGalley
I found this book in the young adult section of the site, but this says that it's actually an adult book. It's a thriller and I can tell you right now, there is a major b word in the  book who wants one character dead. It sounds very intriguing and also like this girl will make me hate her. Not the author, the b word. Anyway, I'm excited to read it!

This Girl is Different by J.J. Johnson
Published: April 1, 2011
Received from: Peachtree Publishers via NetGalley
Look at this  cover! I mean, really look at it. It's so pretty and different. I know it's small but it's really gorgeous if you just stare at it for a while, even at that size. A girl home schooled her whole life decides to spend her senior year in a real school. Let's just hope it doesn't turn out like Mean Girls.

So that's what I got this week! What did you get?
